Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale (born April 2, 1985) is an American professional basket ball player. She is a player for the Dallas Wings and the Women's National Basketball Association. The team was selected with the 5th selection overall in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale's parents Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale were born March 2 1997 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years old) and Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her two older brothers. She was the youngest in her family and her parents spoiled her to the max. The father of her Gregory was posted in the Nigerian Army for quite some time. Ogunbowale is from a vivacious family. The brother Dare is a professional footballer and her mom Yolanda played softball at DePaul. The cousin Endia Olive also plays volleyball at Tennessee State. Arike graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School situated in her home town. Ogunbowale has led her team to several victories using her outstanding skills. In her high school career, she has started 73 times and has 1 477 points total. In addition, she has 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale managed to take home gold at the 2013 the FIBA Americas U16 Championships as well as 2014 World Championships of FIBA U17. On July 7 2014 she was selected to the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale is also a part of the ACC All-Freshman Team, after her debut season at a college. Ogunbowale was also congratulated by the Kobe Bryant after she hit numerous big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale might be new to basketball but she has quickly made herself known.
